Federico Coria has put a deadline on his career: a title by February, or he stops. “If I don’t win a tournament by February, I’m ending my career,” he said.
He has played sixteen matches this season, won five, and lost the last five in a row. He was 49th in the world in 2023. He is 900th now. His brother Guillermo was world No. 3 in 2004.

On the method, Roland does concede one thing: a player giving himself a date, that existed. It was just said to two people, in a car, on the way to the next tournament.
Coria’s last win came at the Liège Challenger, a new Belgian tournament. He has until February to find another one, and a channel to feed in the meantime.
