    Selon le census 2021 réalisé par Statbel, 64,5 % des logements classiques en Belgique étaient occupés par leur propriétaire en 2021, contre 65,6 % en 2011. Les logements construits dans les années 1980 et 1990 sont les plus occupés par leurs propriétaires, avec respectivement 71,1 % et 70,6 %.

    Les logements construits avant la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale affichent une occupation par les propriétaires de seulement 59,4 %. Les logements les plus récents (2011-2020) sont les moins occupés par leurs propriétaires, avec seulement 57,2 %. Faut-il y voir l’investissement locatif et les promoteurs comme raisons principales ?

    La proportion de propriétaires occupants varie selon les régions : 69,8 % en Flandre, 63,8 % en Wallonie, et seulement 38,1 % à Bruxelles. De plus, les maisons sont beaucoup plus souvent occupées par leur propriétaire (82,1 %) que les appartements (30,6 %).

    Dès le printemps, celui-ci agrémente le jardin de fleurs généreuses, et ce jusqu’à la fin de l’été. Son feuillage persistant assure de beaux massifs ainsi que des haies qui restent vertes toute l’année. Au contraire de l’hortensia, le rhododendron aime les sols acides et relativement ombragés. Il apporte une touche d’exotisme avec ses fleurs aux couleurs vives.

    Le lilas commun se présente sous la forme d’un arbrisseau qui, au printemps, développe une kyrielle de belles grappes parfumées qui vont du magenta au blanc. Aussi à l’aise au soleil qu’à la mi-ombre, il n’est pas plus difficile en ce qui concerne son terrain de plantation. Peu exigeant, facile d’entretien, le lilas vous demandera juste de le tailler à la fin de l’été. Son parfum envoûtant est un atout majeur pour les jardins sensoriels.

    Le rosier grimpant résiste lui aussi très bien aux grands froids. On l’apprécie pour sa floraison parfumée qui s’étale du début du printemps à la fin de l’automne. Grimpant à l’aide d’un palissage ou rosier liane pour un effet plus sauvage, le rosier apprécie la lumière ainsi que les terres fraîches et drainées. Gourmand en eau en été, il exige aussi une taille adéquate en fin de floraison. Parfait pour habiller une pergola ou un treillis de manière élégante.

    La clématite

    Cette plante grimpante qui s’agrippe à n’importe quel support solide, y compris aux arbres, se distingue par sa vigueur, par sa floraison généreuse doublée d’un feuillage persistant et caduc, ainsi que par sa palette de couleurs très variée. Certaines variétés produisent même des fleurs du mois de février au mois de novembre ! Une vraie conquérante ! Elle s’associe bien avec d’autres grimpantes pour un effet spectaculaire.
